The Gertrude Street Projection Festival has been running all week, with the annual celebration of the visual medium lighting up the inner north since last Friday night. If you haven’t had the chance to check out the public works yet, you’ve still got some time this week and while we encourage you to come and visit ASAP, there’s a particularly good party happening on Saturday night.
To celebrate the completion of another mesmerising year, the GSPF team have entrusted our good friends at Paradise Music to put on a fitting closing ceremony of sorts and it’s all going to go down at The Catfish Bar (on Gertrude Street, obviously) on July 23. The incredible lineup features Marcus Whale launching his EP Inland Sea, an epic AV collab between friendships and Null, a contemporary dance performance from Dreamteam Projects, and producer Deer’s first foray into a live AV set.
Being a largely visual celebration, we asked the guys to share with us some of their favourite videos (music, or otherwise) and if you’re at all familiar with the conceptual level this group operates on, you already know that things are about to get really weird. Unfortunately, you probably won’t get to witness any of these as part of their performances but rest assured, it’ll be a pretty fascinating night. But to see some things you will never unsee, scroll through the list below.
